In 2012, One PA activists were instrumental in defeating the Pennsylvania Voter ID law. Our organizing for citizen testimony illustrated the devastating impact of the law on low-income and senior citizens, and was critical to the court’s decision to strike down the law.

Our Can’t Stop My Vote campaign trained dozens of observers and activists at the polls, answering questions, and turning out maximum voter participation in our neighborhoods.

We built on our 2012 model to ensure that Allegheny County turned out in 2014. In 2015, we mobilized and took advantage of the unique opportunity to change the composition of the State Supreme Court, an important participant in the redistricting process and undoing the damage of unfair gerrymandering. This was the first step on a path to a progressive majority in Pennsylvania.
