PA STUDENT POWER NETWORK

Across Pennsylvania, students are organizing for social justice on campus and beyond. Our network includes students at private schools, public schools, and community colleges—in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Erie, Lehigh Valley, and in between. We’re working to build long-term progressive power.

How to get involved

1. Join the network! Get a squad together and launch a campus Student Power chapter. Or, if you’re an existing campus group, you can affiliate with the statewide network by committing to our core principles.

2. Help lead a statewide campaign! This spring, we’re organizing for $15/hour living wages and lower tuition, climate and environmental justice, immigrant justice, and more.

3. Get AMPed! Into using arts, media, or policy to build the movement? Lead a creative project with AMP.

Pennsylvania students graduate with the second highest student debt in the country. This system—rising tuition, student debt, and higher ed cuts—is completely unsustainable for students and our families. Now, students and communities across PA are organizing to make public college free and accessible for all!

Join us for an online forum about what’s at stake, what’s next for our movement, and what you can do. Speakers include:
*Jay Breneman, Erie County Council Chairman
*Rev. Greg Edwards, Allentown pastor & US Rep. Candidate for PA’s 15th Congressional District
*Student, faculty, and community leaders from across PA!

Free higher education is about economic justice. It’s about racial justice. It’s about equality for immigrants, LGBTQ people, survivors of violence, and everyone. It’s about shifting the priorities of our political system. Already, Tennessee, Oregon, and New York have undertaken measures to make college free. We're joining together across Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth, PASSHE, community, and private colleges to challenge administrators and elected officials across the state, as well as candidates running for office in 2018, to support free higher education.

The Pennsylvania Student Power Network is a statewide, independent, progressive organization led by students. For more, go towww.facebook.com/pastudentpower or check us out on Instagram at @studentpowerpa: www.instagram.com/studentpowerpa/.
